Communication Boards
A communication board (also known as aided language displays) has picture symbols that links to language. They can vary in grid sizes.
The pictures (words) on the board will enable a child and the adult supporting them to learn to communicate lots of different messages including to ask for help, make comments, requests, and express opinions.
Topic Boards (also known as activity boards)
These boards provide words around a specific activity or situation. They can also be used in everyday routines (mealtimes, sleep time, bathroom)
Core Boards
These are high frequency words that we use routinely. They can help build sentences and can be used across everyday situations.
