We have been working with Nich from https://hollacreative.co.uk/ who has so generously given his time to developing a new logo for our 5Ways2Work branding. Based on our original Fiveways logo it symbolises a young person reaching out of the Fiveways circle to the future, with just the right amount of support from the person in grey.

Nich has also designed some beautiful sticker and stamp designs using Eye Gaze art work done by our awesome young people in 6th Form

Running successful Enterprise projects has always been a huge part of upper school life here at Fiveways. Our main focus since 2016 has been using our purpose-built Candyshack to sell sweets at events and in the community. In the 6th Form, students sit in a production line and assemble sweetie cones; the task of filling, sealing and decorating a bag of sweets is broken down into smaller achievable tasks so that everyone can do a job they are proud of.

We have taken the Candyshack to events and fairs in Yeovil and the surrounding areas. We even hire it out at weddings.

You can also order our sweets by contacting Laura lasearle@educ.somerset.gov.uk

We have collaborated with Yeovil District Hospital Friends Shop and sell our sweetie cones from the counter. Our students carefully pack sweets according to nutritional requirements, price and deliver their product to the hospital every two weeks.

Over the last couple of years we have joined up with nine other SEN.se schools to run pop-up shops across the county. The first was in Taunton and was a hugely successful venture, which encouraged us to take a short lease on a shop in The Quedam Centre in Yeovil. This pop-up shop will open in March so please do visit us. Each school sells its own line of handmade, quality products and the money made directly benefits the young people who make and sell them. The pop-up shop gives our young people a real and meaningful opportunity to engage with the wider community.

If you are a member of staff, a governor or other friend of Fiveways School you can volunteer to work in the shop. Please contact Laura directly lasearle@educ.somerset.gov.uk
